Terms of Service | Chorebound

1. Introduction

Welcome to Chorebound. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chorebound mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Liskion LTD ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in the United Kingdom.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service. If you are between 16 and 18 years old, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Service and that they have read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Managed Profiles: Account holders may create managed profiles for individuals of any age, including children under 16. The account holder is solely responsible for managing these profiles and ensuring appropriate use. Managed profiles do not have direct account access and are supervised by the account holder.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information during registration
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Promptly update your account information if it changes
Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

4. Description of Service

Chorebound is a gamified productivity application that transforms household chores and tasks into cooperative quests. Users can:

Create and join "Realms" (shared spaces for households, families, or groups)
Create "Hero" characters to represent themselves
Complete "Quests" (tasks) to earn virtual rewards (XP, gold)
Use virtual currency to purchase rewards from a realm's shop
Collaborate with other realm members

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Chorebound offers optional paid subscriptions that provide access to premium features.

Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Billing: Payment will be charged to your account at confirmation of purchase through the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Your subscription will renew automatically, and your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period, unless you cancel beforehand.

Managing and Cancelling Subscriptions: Subscriptions may be managed and cancelled through your account settings in the app store from which the purchase was made (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription.

Refunds: All purchases are processed by the applicable app store and are subject to that store's refund policies. We do not directly issue refunds for in-app purchases.

Price Changes: We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing. Any price changes will be communicated in accordance with applicable app store policies.

Subscription features, pricing, and availability may vary by platform and region.

6. User Content

You may create, upload, or share content through the Service, including quest names, realm names, hero names, and other text or media ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You agree that your User Content will not:

Violate any applicable law or regulation
Infringe any third party's intellectual property rights
Contain harmful, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable material
Contain malware, spam, or deceptive content
Impersonate any person or entity

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, without prior notice.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its related systems
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to access the Service
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Harass, abuse, or harm other users or engage in bullying behaviour
Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or bans

8. Virtual Currency and Items

The Service includes virtual currency ("Gold") and virtual items that can be earned or acquired. These virtual items:

Have no real-world monetary value
Cannot be exchanged for real currency or items outside the Service
Are non-transferable between accounts
May be modified or removed at our discretion

Any "real-world rewards" referenced in the Service are managed entirely by realm administrators and are not provided, guaranteed, or fulfilled by us.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, graphics, text, software, and other content (excluding User Content), is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or contain links to third-party services, including:

Authentication providers (for account login)
Payment processors (for subscription billing)
Analytics services

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature within the app or by contacting us at [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not responsible for any loss of data or content.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
